In its December issue, Com! published the results of a series of tests in which 10 antivirus solutions from different vendors participated. Kaspersky Lab’s personal product was the top performer. “Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 provides the best all-round protection,” was how the company’s new product was described by the magazine. The article also noted the minimal use of system resources by the company’s new solution.
The magazine’s experts also emphasized the user-friendly interface of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. “The solution to any potential problem is just a mouse-click away. Despite being simple to manage, the package also provides plenty of settings options for more advanced users in additional submenus,” says the article. Computer Associates came with their latest and better edition of CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2008 to propose a step forward in quality and features. Besides firewall, antivirus, antispyware, antispam, and parental control, the suite now contains data migration and a Web site inspector to identify malicious sites.
One thing you should be aware of is that, at install, CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2008 offers to set up the Yahoo! toolbar and make Yahoo! your default search engine which together with CA’s own Web site Inspector causes your browser to be kind of top-heavy.
The present firewall is obviously much better than what CA presented last year when it swapped from ZoneAlarm’s one to its Tiny Personal Firewall but improvement is still to be had.
